I loved shooting games when I was younger but I sort of lost touch with that love after I graduated from college. However, recently, I was reading a news article that was talking about how popular mobile shooter games are becoming. I mean, come on, we’ve all heard about Fortnite at this point, right?
It inspired me to do a little extra research – just to see what was out there – and I came across and article with a list of the best current multiplayer shooting games. I’ll link it below so you can check it out.

I decided to check a few of them out and I was so pleasantly surprised that I still play three of them regularly; so much so, in fact, that I wanted to share them with you!
1. Pixel Gun 3D
– Rating: 4.5, Downloads: 50M
Pixel Gun 3D is super fun because it has loads of enemies with a large arsenal of weapons and multiple battle modes so you really don’t have an option to get bored. You have the opportunity to play with up to 7 other players whether they’re in your neighborhood or around the world. Plus, you can keep the battles fresh with 10 different multiplayer game modes. There’s also an option for a campaign mode to sharpen your shooter skills with each weapon.
If you want to do really well in the game, you have to upgrade your weapons and that’s going to cost quite a bit of in-game-currency. In my opinion, it’s well worth the effort to earn more in-game cash, but that’s going to be entirely up to you.
Pros: Loads of weapon types and battle modes to keep you entertained, play with up to 7 other people.
Cons: You will have to pay for upgrades if you want to really excel at the game.
Overall: As long as you don’t mind putting in the time and effort to get more in-game coins, you’ll have a great time leveling up and exploring your character’s battle skills.
2. Bullet Force
– Rating: 4.5, Downloads: 10M
Bullet Force has tons of game modes to play like Team Deathmatch, Conquest, Free-For-All and Gun Game. You can also show off your creative side with custom matches that are fast-paced and in 3D. And, if you’re someone who likes to experiment with weapon types, you have the option to select from over 20 weapons, 30 weapon camouflages, laser sights, multiple optics, and even barrel attachments to make your arsenal strong.
Are you someone who likes blood and gore? If you prefer the gory battle with lots of blood, this is probably not the game for you – it may even seem a bit tame. That being said, it is still chock-full of action and excitement.
Pros: Lots of game modes to experiment with gameplay, customize your guns.
Cons: The violence isn’t super realistic (if that’s your kind of thing).
Overall: If you enjoy more cartoon-style games, you’ll really enjoy experimenting with your creative side with this game
3. Blitz Brigade
– Rating: 4.3, Downloads: 10M
You can battle against 11 of your friends in single combat with Blitz Brigade and, in the process, you’ll one of the most fun and over-the-top battle systems out there. You have the option to choose from 7 different classes with unique abilities. Then customize your look with themed costumes and unique accessories you can mix and match. Plus, build a super intense arms collection with more than 100 different types of weapons; everything from snipers and automatic rifles to hilarious weapons like a multi-flavored ice cream cone.
I did find out during some research that the Blitz Brigade took a hard-hit a while back when it became a target for hackers ( they were cheating the weapon system). However, the developers did say they’ve fixed the vulnerabilities and I’ve not experienced any strange circumstances when playing.
Pros: Play against 11 other friends, choose from 100+ weapons, customize your appearance
Cons: The app did get hacked in the past
Overall: While the app did have issues with hackers in the past, now it’s much more secure, so you’re bound to have a great time with this super fun cartoon shooting game
I feel like I’ve had the opportunity to re-experience my childhood love of multiplayer shooter games with these and I’m so glad I ended up coming across that AppGrooves article. I’m finding myself wanting to play these games again and again – whenever I have downtime – and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. Seriously, if you’ve ever loved shooting games, you seriously need to check these out!
